A very positive first assessment of the DAT in Romans sur Isère

The partner companies of the Territorial Action Fund (TAF) in Romans-sur-Isère attended the first progress meeting on Thursday, December 31, regarding the implementation of the 6 projects supported under this scheme. A positive first assessment of the TAF.

In a packed meeting room, Break Poverty Foundation presented the progress of the 6 projects supported by local businesses and the community as part of the Territorial Action Fund (TAF).

The initial figures speak for themselves, reflecting a positive assessment of the TAF : 14 partner companies, 25 operational partners mobilized, 1,170,000 euros funded over 3 years, and 250 beneficiaries supported after 6 months of launch. All projects are aligned with the proposed goals, with only a few operational adjustments needed for some.

“It’s very interesting to see the overall progress of all the TAF projects, beyond the ones we are financing. It’s a true collective pride to be part of this scheme and to see the first results so shortly after our launch meeting in April 2018,” shared a partner company.

During this review meeting, the project “Les Plombiers du numérique” was highlighted with a more detailed presentation from the project leaders and also testimonials from the beneficiaries. (Discover this project)

Stéphanie Pallais from the ARTIM group and three young plumbers came to explain how the first training session for 12 young people went. In just a few months, the team modeled the training with various educational actors, communicated with referring organizations, and selected the 12 young people for the start of training in November 2018.

“At first, it was challenging because you need to be patient and meticulous while having enough strength to pull the fiber in sometimes difficult conditions, but it’s a job I enjoy, and I’m eager to start working,” said one of the young plumbers.

Following the success of this pilot TAF in Romans-sur-Isère, Break Poverty is preparing to roll out the TAF in 3 new territories with the goal of proving that corporate commitment in the fight against social determinism and inequality of opportunity can make a difference!
