Meeting with DAT partners : A look back at the review day in Romans-sur-Isère

Many families have neither printers nor computers. Even so, we have helped them a great deal by reassuring them and accompanying them on the work given by the teachers. Despite this, the teachers note that all the children are lagging behind in their learning.
- Guillaume Bach, Service Manager at the Caisse des Ecoles, in charge of the “Coup de Pouce” project.

On Tuesday October 13, all the partners in the Romans-sur-Isère DAT – companies, associations and public authorities – gathered for a 4th review meeting, in the presence of the Mayor, Marie-Hélène Thoraval. The Romans-sur-Isère DAT is developing well, despite the health situation: almost all partners have confirmed their commitment to the scheme for the new year, and a new company has joined. DAT is also on target in terms of beneficiaries : 637 young people have already been supported.

All the associations supported under the scheme spoke about their actions over the past few months. They shared their experiences of confinement and how they have had to reinvent themselves to support young people in these complicated times. In a difficult economic climate, their actions are more necessary than ever to combat the precariousness of youth. By maintaining the link between young people in difficulty and the company, the DAT is a genuine response to the social crisis we are experiencing.

The confinement had a very negative impact on the girls' schooling. Some (...) dropped out suddenly. Their parents didn't always have the means to help them with their schooling, and they didn't always have a place to isolate themselves to follow classes and do their homework. We have therefore stepped up our individual support, placing greater emphasis on tutoring, job hunting and internships.
- Tiffany Bailly, Coordinator at Lab'Elles

We would like to extend our warmest greetings to all the company representatives present at this event : Marques Avenue, Campenon Bernard, Veyret Techniques Découpe, Refresco, Hyper U, Eovi, Khrone and Saint Jean.

Many thanks also to our partners, whose absence was regrettable: Crédit Agricole, Didier Matériaux, McDonald’s, Framatome, Sodimas and Routière Chambard. Thanks to the community and to the Mayor for her commitment and warm welcome. And finally, thanks to the associations for their unfailing commitment !
