Making a legacy to an organization or association is not just a financial gesture, it’s also a commitment that enables you to realize your ideas and convictions beyond your own existence. Break Poverty guides you through the process of establishing your legacy to fight poverty in France and around the world.
A legacy gift allows you to pass on all or part of your assets in your will to the people of your choice and/or to an organization such as ours, after your death or that of your spouse. In this way, you can dispose of your assets for the rest of your life.
By leaving a legacy gift to Break Poverty Foundation, you are giving meaning to the assets you have built up, and enabling us to help the poorest children by providing long-term funding for relevant, high-impact projects.
When you make a bequest, you are free to pass on :
If you have direct inheritors (spouse, ascendants, children, grandchildren), the law requires you to bequeath a specific portion of your estate to them. You can therefore decide to bequeath the “available portion” of your estate to Break Poverty Foundation, freely and without concern.
Finally, your bequest to Break Poverty Foundation will be exempt from inheritance tax.
The different types of bequest
Bequests come in 3 different forms to suit different situations.
If you have no children or family and no will, all your assets will automatically be transferred to the State. Drawing up a will allows you to decide for yourself what will happen to the assets you have accumulated throughout your life, and what use they will be put to.
